Programstruktúra
PROGRAMME STRUCTURE – ABOUT MODULES
The executive certificate program from METU consists of the following 4 modules, which provide essential knowledge in the global business environment:
• Global Marketing in Digital Age
This course explores the analytical and strategic use of the marketing mix (4Ps: pricing, product, promotion, and place) in both domestic and international markets. Students will develop a deep understanding of how to create, price, communicate, and deliver value to customers and stakeholders by combining quantitative analysis with qualitative insight. Through real-world business cases, they learn to evaluate complex marketing challenges, especially in pricing and distribution, and apply models that support decision making even under uncertainty.
The course is divided into two main parts. The first focuses on macro marketing issues—such as market orientation, segmentation, targeting, and positioning—and their strategic implications across different regions and customer contexts. The second applies this foundation to the practical implementation of the 4Ps, using decision tools and case-based learning to simulate real-life strategic scenarios. By connecting marketing with financial concepts like NPV and the income statement, students are trained to think holistically and make informed decisions in an era defined by digital transformation and global competition.
Learning Objectives:
By the end of the course, students will be able to:
• Make strategic decisions under uncertainty using real-world case studies
• Balance data-driven analysis with strategic thinking in domestic and global marketing contexts
• Link customer, competitor, and market insights to positioning and value creation
• Global Accounting: Managing with Numbers
This course provides a comprehensive foundation in both financial and managerial accounting, designed for future leaders operating in an international business environment. Students will learn how to prepare, interpret, and analyze key financial statements—including the balance sheet, income statement, and statement of cash flows—in accordance with both U.S. GAAP and IFRS. The course emphasizes how transactions related to assets, liabilities, equity, revenue, and expenses are recorded and reported, helping students understand how numbers reflect a company’s financial health and strategic direction.
Beyond technical skills, the course highlights how accounting supports strategic thinking and execution. Through real-world case studies, students will explore the role of accounting in decision-making processes, investment analysis, and organizational performance evaluation. The managerial accounting component introduces tools such as cost-volume-profit analysis, activity-based costing, and relevant cost analysis, equipping students to make smarter internal decisions and align financial insights with organizational goals.
Learning Objectives:
By the end of the course, students will be able to:
• Support strategic decisions with accounting insights
• Prepare and analyze financial statements under U.S. and international standards
• Communicate key financial concepts clearly across stakeholder groups
• Data Analytics and Digital Transformation in a Global World
This course develops the analytical thinking, statistical literacy, and digital fluency needed for effective decision-making in today’s complex global business environment. Students will learn to apply statistical techniques—ranging from descriptive statistics to regression and ANOVA—to real-world business datasets, enhancing their ability to extract insight from complexity. Emphasis is placed on practical application across industries, using tools such as SPSS and data visualization dashboards to transform raw data into actionable strategies.
The course also explores how technologies driving the Fourth Industrial Revolution—including AI, IoT sensors, Blockchain, and AR—are reshaping the landscape of data collection, interpretation, and ethical decision-making. Students gain insight into the broader implications of digital transformation, including privacy, security, stakeholder relations, and regulatory challenges. Case discussions and hands-on assignments help students develop both a quantitative mindset and the agility to adapt to fast-changing environments, making them better equipped to lead in a data-saturated world.
Learning Objectives:
By the end of the course, students will be able to:
• Evaluate the strategic impact of emerging technologies in data-driven management
• Apply key statistical techniques to business data for informed decision-making
• Think critically and adapt quickly in dynamic international business environments
• Global Leadership and Personal Development
This course supports the development of global leadership skills by combining introspective growth with practical frameworks for leading in complex, multicultural environments. Students will explore what it means to lead effectively in the age of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) where rapid technological change, globalization, and shifting team dynamics challenge traditional leadership approaches.
Through a combination of experiential learning, self-assessment, and group interaction, students enhance their ability to collaborate across boundaries and drive positive outcomes within diverse teams and systems. Emphasis is placed on building self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and change-readiness, equipping students to lead not just from formal positions, but from wherever they are in an organization. The course invites students to reflect deeply on their personal leadership style and to create a concrete plan for ongoing professional development, ensuring long-term effectiveness in dynamic global contexts.
Learning Objectives:
By the end of the course, students will be able to:
• Lead organizational change in global and technologically evolving environments
• Identify, assess, and develop their own leadership strengths for continuous growth
• Collaborate effectively with unfamiliar individuals, teams, and organizations across cultures
